Quantify the ROI of your workflows

Understand the value of your workflows.

Written by Jamie Gaynor

The value tab in the monitoring dashboard tracks and displays the dollar value of time saved by your workflows. It calculates this based on how much time workflows save you during both building and running, converted to dollars using a configurable hourly rate.

At the top of the dashboard, you will see four key metrics:

  • Total value: Combined value saved across all workflows.

  • Build value: One-time value from building these workflows.

  • Run value: Ongoing value from workflows running over time.

  • Workflows: Number of workflows that saved time in the selected period.

Configurable controls

The dashboard provides several controls to customize your view:

  • Space filter: Filter workflows by space. You can view all spaces or select a specific team space to narrow down the results (personal spaces are excluded).

  • Time range: Choose a window of 30, 60, or 90 days. Note that the window is capped at 90 days for performance reasons.

  • Hourly rate: Set your team's productivity hourly rate (default is $75/hour). Use the +/− buttons to adjust by $5 increments or type directly to set a custom rate. Changes apply instantly and recalculate all values.

Workflows table

A sortable, filterable table showing each workflow's value.

  • Build: Dollar value saved building the workflow (one-time), minutes to build, and the source of the estimate.

  • Run: Dollar value saved by all runs in the window, minutes saved per run, and the source of the estimate.

  • Total: Combined build and run value.

How value is calculated

Tines 3B computes value using this formula:

Value = (Minutes saved × Hourly rate) / 60

  • For build value: Uses estimated build minutes saved. This counts as a one-time saving and is only included if the workflow had AI usage during builds in the time window.

  • For run value: Uses estimated minutes saved per run, multiplied by the number of successful executions in the time window. This counts all runs, even those without AI usage.

  • Time estimates: Build and run minutes are categorized as:

    • AI estimate: Automatically generated.

    • Manual: Set by users.

    • Not set: No value calculated.

Edit time saved

Click any workflow row to open the editor where you can view current estimates, update build minutes, and update run minutes.

Changes update the workflow's value immediately across all views.
