Oversee every space, workflow, and chat with watchtower

How to use the watchtower.

Written by Jamie Gaynor

Watchtower gives admins a single place to look across your whole tenant. From here you can open any space, review any member's personal workflows, and read anyone's chats, without being added as a member of each one.

It's built for oversight: audits, investigations, offboarding checks, or simply understanding how your team is using Tines 3B. This article explains what watchtower shows, who can use it, and how to browse around it.

Watchtower brings together three things that are normally private to each person or space:

  • Every space in your tenant. Open any space and browse its workflows, including spaces you haven't joined.

  • Any member's personal workflows. Look into the personal workspace that each member builds in.

  • Any member's chats. Read the chats a member has had with Tines 3B.

Who can see the watchtower

Access to Watchtower comes from two tenant permissions, assigned through roles:

  • "View all spaces" lets you browse every space in the tenant, plus each member's personal workflows.

  • "View all personal chats" lets you read every member's chats.

You need at least one of these to see watchtower at all. If you hold only one, you'll see only the parts it unlocks. If you need these permissions, ask a teammate who manages roles, or set them up on the Roles page.

Note: Keep in mind that watchtower is a sensitive capability. It exposes private work across your tenant, so grant these permissions carefully.

Accessing the watchtower

To get to watchtower, open settings and select it in the navigation. You'll land on an empty Watchtower screen that prompts you to pick something from the sidebar.

The left sidebar is where all the browsing happens.

Browse a member's personal workflows and chats

At the top of the sidebar, under personal and chat, you'll find a member picker:

  1. In the select member drop down, search by name or email, then choose a person. Deactivated members appear here too, shown muted.

  2. Once a member is selected, links to their personal workflows and chats appear beneath the picker. Select either to open it.

Browse any space

Below the member picker, the "all spaces" section lists every space in your tenant:

  • Spaces you belong to appear with their usual icon.

  • Spaces you haven't joined are marked with a "not a member" indicator, so you always know when you're looking in as an admin rather than a member.

Select any space to open it and browse its workflows.

How admin view works

Whenever you open someone else's chats, another member's personal workflows, or a space you aren't a member of, Tines 3B switches into an admin view so it's clear you're looking at something outside your own work:

  • The top bar shows a watchtower badge with the name of the member or space you're viewing.

  • The logo is replaced by a back arrow. Select it to leave the admin view and return to where you were.

  • Inside a space you haven't joined, an "viewing as admin, not a member" eye indicator appears next to it in the sidebar.

What you can actually do inside a space or workflow still depends on your other permissions. With view-only permissions, you can browse but not make changes.

Note: You won't see yourself in the member picker. It lists everyone else in the tenant so you can browse their work.
